Flint Hills Discovery Center, Manhattan, KS

As part of the Manhattan downtown redevelopment project OSE was selected to design systems for a new mueseum to highlight the Flint Hills. With an MEP cost of $3,300,000 OSE was charged to design the HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems for the 36,000 SF, 3-level museum building. A geothermal heat pump system was designed for this project to increase energy efficiency. The Flint Hills Discovery Center achieved LEED® Gold certification. OSE was instrumental in the the LEED® documentation process requiring computer building energy modeling of the facility.

Blue Earth Place Mixed Use Building, Manhattan, KS

With an MEP cost of $1,700,000 OSE designed the HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for a new 36,400 SF, four-story building in the Manhattan downtown redevelopment area. The project includes first floor commercial/retail spaces, second floor commercial office spaces, and third/fourth floor luxury two-story apartments.

Sunset Zoo Education Building, Manhattan, KS

As part of a improvement project for the Sunset Zoo, OSE was selected to design the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the new Zoo Entry and Education building. The building highlights the Zoo's features for partrons as they enter. It also serves as a educational facility hosting multiple classrooms, a teleconferencing center, and a daycare facility. The building also provides a gift shop and ticket booth for day to day operations.

Wetlands Education Center, Cheyenne Bottoms, KS

MEP Cost $456,000 Design of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems for a new 11,250 SF education and interpretive center for the Cheyenne Bottoms wetlands area. The project includes an auditorium, gift shop, display areas, offices and labs for Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism personnel, and marsh areas outside the building.

Briggs Auto Lane, Manhattan, KS

MEP Cost $800,000. Design of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems for an automobile dealership that included new buildings for the Nissan and Jeep dealerships, renovation of the GMC dealership building , and site lighting for automobile display and traffic circulation.
