Dan Chitwood, PE
CAD/BIM Manager
Dan Chitwood is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the field of engineering. He began his career at Orazem & Scalora Engineering (OSE) in 1996 as a design engineer, where he worked for 18 years. After a brief hiatus, Dan rejoined OSE in 2022 as the CAD/BIM Manager.
In 1995, Dan obtained his bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University. He is currently a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Kansas. Throughout his tenure at OSE, Dan has successfully contributed to a wide range of projects, including churches, convenience stores, K12 and higher education facilities, financial institutions, transportation corridor lighting, public housing, and high-end residential buildings. While he is well-versed in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, Dan’s true passion lies in lighting design. He brings expertise and innovation to this specialized area of engineering.
Beyond his engineering design responsibilities, Dan actively participates in the development and management of OSE’s CAD standards. He is dedicated to ensuring the company’s workflows and design processes are efficient and aligned with industry best practices.
A native of Kansas, Dan was born in Topeka and grew up in
Topeka and Garnett. He met his wife while attending Kansas State University, and they have since settled in Manhattan, Kansas, where they raised their two children. In his leisure time, Dan enjoys engaging in various outdoor activities, such as softball, woodworking, and kayaking. He appreciates the beauty of nature and finds solace in spending time outdoors.
